Thought for Sunday 4th July 2021

Thought for Sunday: The rain came yesterday, a blessed relief after days of heat and baking sun. It’s been glorious and hopefully the sun will return soon but the earth was dry, the plants parched and it was wonderful to walk around the garden in the heat with the rain gently falling on me, calming and heightening the senses at the same time.

And as I gave thanks for the rain yesterday, I gave thanks for my friends, new and old who have and are bringing so much joy into my life. Their laughter, sharing, openness,kindness, intellect, understanding and intelligence. That they “get” you.

Each day creating new memories and never allowing what is so good around us to become common place. Life moves at such a fast pace, take a moment each day to reflect on what was great that day, give thanks for that moment ,as it is fleeting and when your head starts sweating the small stuff, stop and remember what’s important.

The photo is of a poppy I saw yesterday in the garden , just after it had rained. I haven’t enhanced the picture at all - it is just beautiful perfection in that moment - doing what it does best - being, growing and showing it’s beautiful self in the rain. Be like the poppy and show the world your beautiful self, even if it’s raining

Lyns

“But pleasures are like poppies spread,

You seize the flower, it's bloom is shed;

Or, like the snow-fall in the river,

A moment white, then melts forever.”

― Robert Burns, Tam O'Shanter
